She had taken a trip to her parents cabin on the coast of Maine to see the leaves change colors, but it was unseasonably hot, and she decided to take a quick dip in the lagoon. She knew the salty water was going to be frigid, despite the hot days, the nights were already quite cold. She only wanted to get wet enough to cool down though, she didn't intend to go for a long swim or anything...

As she stripped down and dove into the dark water, she felt a moment of shock at the icy water. She was going to surface when she suddenly began to feel strange. The water didn't feel that cold any more, and she felt like she was... no she couldn't be... She felt like she was breathing, with her mouth closed, underwater. The sensation was coming from high on her neck, just below the jawline. She couldn't see anything in the water, so she felt her head instead. She felt a strange bony protrusions, like a series of spikes, and a... webbing between them? Behind those she found the questionable feeling... Gills. She had gills, real working, water breathing gills!

She quickly surfaced from the water, panicking a bit, she could see her skin was a darker olive green, and various parts of her were covered in scales. Her nose felt different, and she looked down the bridge of it and spied a second pair of breasts below her original pair. She had turned into some multibreasted fish girl from the dark lagoon by the cabin....
